Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers.

Licensing, coverage, rollouts, drive-thru systems, and how fast we show up. If it's not here, call 972-901-9948.

Are you licensed & insured?

Yes. Tech Chefs holds a Texas Electrical Contractor License (TECL #37276) and a Texas Private Security Contractor License (B30874201), authorizing electrical construction and security system installation. We carry general liability coverage and maintain the bonding, licensing, and trade partnerships required to execute work across multiple states. For project-specific insurance documentation, contact Admin@techchefsTX.com.

Are you licensed to work outside of Texas?

Yes. Tech Chefs executes commercial installations coast to coast — from California to Florida — through a combination of our own licenses, master electrician oversight, and qualified local subcontractor partnerships where required by state law. We are a Certified Inspire Brands Contractor and have run active rollout programs in multiple states simultaneously.

What types of commercial work do you do?

Tech Chefs is a commercial electrical and low-voltage contractor. Core services include general commercial electrical (service upgrades, panels, branch circuits, code corrections), lighting systems and exterior signage, drive-thru audio and loop detection (HME Certified Contractor and Dealer), commercial audio and background music systems, POS system installation and service (Infor, Verifone, and others), IP security cameras and access control, and network infrastructure for rollout programs. We do not do residential work.

Do you handle multi-site rollouts, or just individual locations?

Multi-site rollouts are our primary business. Tech Chefs is a Certified Inspire Brands Contractor with three consecutive national infrastructure programs active or complete: a Comcast infrastructure rollout across Sonic Drive-Ins (2023–2024), a Verifone credit card reader rollout across Sonic nationwide (2025–2026), and an ongoing Infor POS rollout with 100+ locations in active pipeline.

Can you serve our locations outside of Texas?

Yes. Our teams execute installs from California to Florida. We are structured to support multi-state rollout programs from a single point of coordination — one contract, one project manager, consistent execution standards at every location. If you have locations outside the continental U.S., contact us to discuss logistics.

Are you an HME certified contractor and dealer?

Yes — both. Tech Chefs is an HME Certified Contractor (installation and service) and an authorized HME Dealer (equipment sales). We sell and install the full HME product line, including ZOOM Nitro drive-thru systems, headsets, batteries, battery chargers, speakers, microphones, and accessories. Walk-in equipment pickup is available at our Duncanville, TX location Monday–Friday, 9AM–5PM CT. Call 972-901-9948 to confirm same-day availability.

What drive-thru systems do you install and service?

We install and service HME NEXEO, HME ZOOM Nitro, and related drive-thru audio and timer systems. We also install and repair in-ground loop detection systems for vehicle detection. For Inspire Brands locations, we have brand-certified installation standards and active rollout relationships.

How do I request service for one or more locations?

Call 972-901-9948 or email admin@techchefstx.com. Our dispatch team responds the same business day. For urgent issues — drive-thru down, critical equipment failure — we offer 24/7 emergency service.

How do I get pricing for a rollout program?

Call 972-901-9948 or reach our multi-site team through the Book a Job form. For formal rollout programs, we typically work through your brand's approved contractor process. We're already a Certified Inspire Brands Contractor — if you're with an Inspire brand, that process is already in place.

What's your typical response time for service calls?

For scheduled service, we confirm within one business day and schedule based on urgency and location. For emergency service, we respond 24/7. Call 972-901-9948.

Who owns Tech Chefs, and what's your background?

Tech Chefs is owned by Ty Thompson, a licensed Texas Master Electrician. The company has approximately 25 employees and has been executing commercial electrical and low-voltage work for multi-site QSR, retail, and commercial property operators for years. We are faith-based, family-owned, and built around long-term client relationships — not one-off work orders.

What geographic areas do you serve?

Nationwide. Our home base is Duncanville, TX (Dallas–Fort Worth), and our teams regularly execute jobs from California to Florida. We are structured to support multi-state rollout programs from a single point of coordination.
