Why POPS stalls dim or go dark
Sonic's POPS (Point of Personalized Service) stalls run digital menu panels and stall lighting off low-voltage power. Texas heat, weather, and years of runtime take their toll. The usual culprits:
- Failed LED power supply — the class-2 power supply that drives the stall's menu-panel LEDs wears out, leaving a panel dim or fully dark.
- Bad splitter or cabling — the 1-to-4 splitter that distributes power to each panel section fails, so part of the display drops out.
- Individual LED panel failure — a single panel section ages out while the rest still work.
- Push-button / order-point faults — the call button or order-point hardware stops responding.
